Dr. Ansel T. Johnson

 Our Founder and President, Dr. Ansel Johnson is an Optometrist and a  30+ year veteran in the eye care industry. He has been featured in several publications including Black Enterprise Magazine, where he is recognized as being among the top 101 leading Black Doctors in the United States. He represented as the only optometrist listed in this elite group. Dr. Johnson is a pillar of the Blue Island community who promotes positive leadership and a leader in primary health care.

Dr. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 1985. He has served the eye care community through private practice, teaching, community partnerships, training programs, educational presentations, and even has completed research on behalf of the Glaucoma Research Foundation, California aiding with their national public education projects on Glaucoma. 

Dr. Johnson serves on the Board of Directors for United Eye Care Providers as the Optometric Medical Director and on the executive Board of Directors for IDOC, https://idoc.net . He is a member of the National Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
